History Buffs playing the game! First it was an arcade game at the Portland Harbor Museum. Now you can play Heroes and Shipwrecks of Portland at home or school!

Choose what hero you'll be, then start your voyage to collect a treasure trove of historic artifacts. It won't be easy, because something disastrous has happened in Portland! Yes it's true. Although most of the time Portland Harbor is a beautiful, tranquil arm of Casco Bay, every hundred years or so a huge nor'easter storm blows through that can wreck the largest ships, and even buildings, and stir the sea to wash valuable historic artifacts up on shore.

The storm of the century has just blown through Portland Harbor. Now it's your job to get these artifacts back across the harbor to the Portland waterfront. Each dock across the bottom of the screen is from a different time period; the oldest dock on the left, the newest on the right. Your job is to read or listen to each story, find the artifact that matches that story, and bring it safely across the harbor to the correct dock. Pay attention to clues in each story. Collect the matching artifact and get it back to the dock for its time period.

The slow connection version is recommended for those with dial-up access.
